Every journey has a beginning. 

ThoughtsUnboxed is one of such humble beginnings. As a passionate technology enthusiasts, I have always had the desire to start writing my own technology blog but timings, shyness, hesitation, laziness and most importantly, fear of failure kept me away from this for more than a decade. 

ThoughtsUnboxed was born almost three years ago when I took the first step towards realizing my dream and booked the domain. The domain remained dormant since then and I kept delaying my first post from one day to the next day. 

On my birthday this May 11th, I finally took all my courage and wrote my first Post - A traditional hello world familiar to those in the programming circle. 

How would this site be different from others? Well, to be honest, I don't know. All I would do is to share a news and then try to put my thoughts at the end to keep news and opinions at clear bay.

I would mostly be covering news surrounding technology or things that directly or indirectly relates to technology. However, this would not be the only content. Occasionally, there would be opinions, reviews, and general news that would be covered.

I hope you would love the content and writing style of this site and would come back to it many a times.

Meet Microsoft Graveyard - A Monument of Products Killed By Microsoft

Much to my envy, a site I had long hoped to set up was established this week. I often wondered why there was no "Killed by Microsoft" counterpart to Google's "Killed by Google," and the wait is finally over. Launched by Victor Frye, the Microsoft Graveyard is an open-source compilation showcasing discontinued Microsoft-made software and hardware. It's worth noting that the site has no affiliations with Microsoft itself. According to the developer, the website is a "passion project" born out of a fondness for many of these products that met an untimely end. Among them are some of the recent casualties including WordPad , Visual Studio for Mac , Cortana , Windows Phone alongside some late distant memories like ASP.Net Web Matrix, Microsoft Bob, Windows Vista and Zune. The Purge Continues - Microsoft Kills WordPad - Who's Next?

Microsoft is on a chopping spree of late. After chopping off Cortana and Visual Studio for Mac, the latest victim of this trend is WordPad - a program that was part of Windows since Windows 95! In a Blog Post on the official site, the company outlines features that will be deprecated from the future versions of Windows and this time around, WordPad made it to the list. Microsoft will not only stop supporting the unfortunate piece of software, it will actually remove it from the future Windows updates. Microsoft recommends Microsoft Word and NotePad as alternatives depending upon the requirements. Apple Expects to Kickoff WWDC 2023 With A Bang

Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) is one of the most hotly anticipated tech events of the year. Sometimes, it would correct the direction of the entire tech industry. The other times, it would convince the world they need another gadget in their lives. Not only media, fans and users look forward to this event, rivals also keep a deep tap on what would come out of Cupertino. It usually is a restless time for everyone until the Keynote is delivered. For the past few years, WWDC has been a bit muted if not outright meh.
