Samsung's Bi-Annual Unpacked Event: What to Expect and How to Watch!

Galaxy Unpacked

Samsung is gearing up for the second part of its highly-anticipated bi-annual Unpacked event, scheduled for July 27th at 7AM ET. The first part of this event took place back in February when Samsung unveiled its impressive S23 lineup alongside the Galaxy Book series, including the flagship Galaxy Book3 Ultra. However, the absence of the Galaxy Tab S9 series left fans eager for more.

The upcoming event has been teased with the tagline "Join the Flip Side" in Samsung's marketing material, heavily hinting at the launch of the next generation of foldables, which includes the Galaxy Flip5 and Galaxy Fold5.

How to Watch the Event?

The Galaxy Unpacked event will be live-streamed on Samsung's official website, as well as their YouTube account. For your convenience, we have included a direct link to the live stream in this post, so you can easily tune in and catch all the action. Here is the timings for various regions:

What to Expect?

Join the flip side

With the tagline "Join the Flip Side," it's clear that the major announcements at the event will revolve around the next generation of the foldable including the Flip and Fold series . Here are some details about the possible announcements:

Galaxy Z Flip5

The Galaxy Z Flip 5 is rumored to come with several upgrades, boasting a larger 3.4-inch cover display with a 720 x 748 resolution. Leaked images of the device seem to confirm the size of the outer display, which now stretches from the phone’s camera to its hinge. This is a significant improvement from the Z Flip 4's 1.9-inch 260 x 512 outer display. When unfolded, the display is likely to retain the same 6.7-inch size we saw in the Z Flip 4, but it might fold even flatter thanks to the new water-drop style hinge Samsung has been working on.

Galaxy Z Fold5

The Z Fold 5 is also expected to feature a water-drop hinge, which should reduce the appearance of a crease when unfolded. It may also have a slimmer design compared to the Z Fold 4. Reports suggest that the Fold 5 could come with a 12MP telephoto lens, an upgrade from the 10MP lens found in the Fold 4. Apart from these changes, the device is expected to maintain its 7.6-inch inner display and 6.2-inch outer display.

Galaxy Tab S9 Series

In addition to the foldables, there is a possibility of the launch of the next generation of Tab S series. Similar to the Tab S8 lineup, the Tab S9 series is expected to include three models: Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus, and S9 Ultra. The highlight of the lineup is a better base Galaxy Tab S9 model, bringing back the much-appreciated OLED screen that was missing in the Galaxy Tab S8. All three tablets are rumored to be equipped with an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and carry an IP67 rating for water resistance.

Galaxy Watch6 Series

Finally, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Watch 6 series, with the star of the show being the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, reintroducing the beloved rotating bezel that Samsung unexpectedly removed from the Watch5 Classic.
